A YEC model could plausibly have the chromosome fusion occur very
early and established in a very small population, i.e. close to Adam
or Noah.

Neanderthal DNA is available, but generally very small bits, so I
don't know if there's much chance of getting a big enough chunk to
span enough length to tell what's on the same chromosome.

(I'm traveling with meetings and probably can't deal with longer
questions well for a while.)
