The Geological Society of America (GSA) just announced the recipients of its annual awards for various forms of accomplishment.? ASA member Davis A. Young (emeritus Calvin College) will be awarded (at the annual autumn meeting) the Mary C. Rabbitt History of Geology Award by GSA's History of Geology Division.? Dave Young has written many books on faith/science issues, but he as also written several very well received books on the history of geology.
At the same meeting, Judge John E. Jones III (of Dover, Pennsylvania fame) will receive GSA's President's Medal of the Geological Society of America for "outstanding support of the geosciences".
