I'd like to know how they explain banded iron formations (BIFs). Current
issue of Science News has an interesting article on their formation.
These are extensive regions with alternating iron-rich and silicon-rich
regions. Precipitating these sediments is challenging via hydrodynamic
sorting in a turbulent one year flood.
