Not a big deal- it is fiction, and is not trying to be non-fiction. You could also have your kids read it and think about why it doesn't apply to the creation debate.

Subject: [asa] Creationist children's book

The link

http://papercuts.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/04/14/william-steigs-creationist-fable/?emc=eta1

is a book review on a particularly pernicious creationist book for
kids; to be avoided at all costs.
