Some time ago, I posted to the list a parallax measurement just over
6000 light years, to another arm of the Milky Way. It would almost
certainly have been in Science or Nature, because I'm not likely to
see many other sources on astronomy.

Evidence against a global flood is a little difficult because there's
no global flood model. Instead, it is invoked to explain all features
of the earth's geologic record, regardless of whether the explanation
is compatible with anything else (e.g., it's violently catastrophic
and perfectly calm; the same beds are pre-, intra-, or post-flood,
etc.).
