RE: [asa] ASA members to speak at Darwin event in Dayton, Tennessee

Dick Fischer expressed reservations about the views of the sponsors of this
event. The invitation came from Todd Wood, director of the center there.
Dr Wood is, like his former colleague Kurt Wise, a "new school" YEC
proponent. That is, he recognizes that the YEC view is fraught with
difficulties and he works to try to improve the position by respecting the
real science that presents those difficulties.

Dr Wood is interested in having conversation with people like Steve
Matheson and myself, who would never be considered adherents of the YEC
view. I'm fine with that, and to speak about topics of mutual interest to
an audience that will probably be eager to engage my views.
