If anyone is interested, talks given at the AAAS meeting are available for purchase for download at www.aven.com. The cost is $13 for plenary or topical speakers, $20 for short (90) minute) symposia and $30 for long (3 hour) symposia.
One session I'm considering getting is a Monday morning symposium which I will miss since I had to leave before that. The title is "Celebrating Darwin at 200: Explaining How Human Morality Evolved". The abstract includes this sentence: "...we now appreciate how sharing or altruism can emerge through natural selection...despite images of a "selfish" process..." Speakers include Sara Miles's thesis advisor, she tells me, and several others that she knows such as the moderator, Doug Allchin of U of Minnesota.
