What are the "strengths and weaknesses " of evolution? I'm not sure
waht I, if I were a teacher, would do differently if the conservatives
won here. Or how the textbooks would be changed. Why is this not a
"tempest in a teapot?"
Specifically, what "flaws" might be referred to here?

In a preliminary vote in January, The Texas State Board of Education
voted to do away with the 20-year requirement of teaching the
"strengths and weaknesses" of all scientific theories of origins. This
means teachers will not be required to teach students about the flaws
of evolution. This will affect all science textbooks for the next 7
years or more.
Three Republicans -- Bob Craig, Tincy Miller, and Pat Hardy voted with
the Democrats in to eliminate "strengths and weaknesses." See full
vote below.
The final vote will be taken in March.
