Hi Merv:

In this hypothetical response I think I would ask if Satan has the power
to manipulate DNA, and wouldn't this give him a status on par with the
Creator (or Intelligent Designer). Further an evil power as designer,
or undesigner, has no scriptural support.

The important thing is to keep on the attack and keep your opponent in a
defensive position. If they raise the issue of sin let them explain
where in our DNA is the coding for sin.

If we could identify in our DNA the coding for blood clotting and also
the coding for hemophilia in certain individuals, are we to suppose that
God (or that mysterious Intelligent Designer) did the former and Satan
or some evil presence did the latter? And so on.

Quoting Dick Fischer <dickfischer@verizon.net>:

..But then be prepared for this response: Well, it wasn't necessarily
this
individual's sin that caused him to be this way. It is the general sin
of
humanity (or the specific sin of that first human) that gives us our
fallen
state and causes so many individuals to suffer in specific ways. I.e.
--the
possibility of disease was introduced during the fall. Now we all
suffer it in
various ways.

This is what they will reply back to you with.
