Re: [asa] The Bible's center verse (Vernon -- please note)

Thomas Nelson Publishers (Nashville, TN) printed a reprint of the 1611
edition of the Authorized Version, aka KJV. The prefaces and the text
itself have been rendered into Roman type, so there aren't the
integral sign-like s, etc., but spelling is unchanged (including the
interchanging of u and v and i and j). The tables of daily readings,
timing of Easter-related days (i.e., the ones that vary from year to
year), etc. are facsimile in original typeface.

It contains a facsimile of the frontispiece; the dedication to King
James; an extended preface to the reader (which identifies the Hebrew
and Greek originals as the most authoritative versions and asserts
that, as they were not directly inspired as apostles, this version
doubtless contains errors to be corrected in future translations); a
table of the days of the year with recommended verses, holy days, and
some numbers relating to the calendar that I don't entirely follow; a
table of passages for lessons or Psalms on particular days; a table of
named Sundays relative to Easter (in case you always wondered what
Septuagesima was); a table of the only official holy days; and a table
of the books and number of chapters before finally getting to the
text.

Marginal notes in the text indicate cases in which more than one
interpretation seemed credible. Other marginal notes include
cross-references and literal translations. Chapters begin with a
brief summary, and there are topical headers. First letters of
chapters are ornamented.

The included apocrypha are I Esdras (9 chapters), 2 Esdras (16
chapters), Tobit (14), Judeth (16), rest of Esther (6), Wisedome (19),
Ecclesiasticus (51), Baruch (6), Song of the 3 Children, Susanna, Bel
and the Dragon, Prayer of Manasseh (chapter tally not in the table,
presumably each of these four are considered one chapter; Manasseh
doesn't have verse divisions), I Maccabees (16), 2 Maccabees (15).
