Gregory A. contributed a screed about the awful state of the American
church, and science/faith dialog therein, which was prefaced by a warfare-ish
anti-science statement from the website of Landover Baptist Church.
 
I actually agree with some of Gregory's laments (such as finding the
red/blue warfare in the U.S. church distressing), but my purpose in this post is not
to respond to his statements.
 
I just want to inform Gregory and everybody else that "Landover Baptist
Church" is not an actual church -- it is a parody website constructed by somebody
disillusioned with fundamentalism and the Religious Right (a former student
at Jerry Falwell's Liberty University). It is a sad statement on our times
that many things on the website don't seem too implausible for something a
fundamentalist Baptist church might say. More information here:
