That sounds new and interesting to me- thanks for sharing. Something to
consider. Although, if the first was thought true then later found to
be myth; it makes the second, which is also considered true to be,
suspect in the same way. "Once burned, twice shy."

Concerning the issue of inerrancy, which has come up several times
already,
let me point out that my colleague Robin Collins (whom I have already
invoked in another context) has a very thoughtful essay on "Evolution
and
Original Sin," in Keith Miller's volume, "Perspectives on an Evolving
Creation." He offers there the best overall commentary on the issue of
Paul, Adam, and inerrancy that I have seen. It's lengthy and carefully
worded, such that I won't attempt a summary here in my own words. The
bottom line is that Robin follows NT scholar Jimmy Dunn who, in his
commentary on Romans 1-8, holds that "an act in mythic history can be
parallel to an act in living history without the point of comparison
being
lost." Robin applies this to the second Adam.

That is just one of many interesting claims. I recommend this essay to
all.
