Re: [asa] Grand Canyon and the flood

This argument is nonsense from the creation science/flood geology
viewpoint as well as from a sound geological outlook, both of which it
attempts to put together. It assumes the lack of upthrust of the former
applied to the latter. But consider the effect of the ferocious currents
of CS/FG, tearing up the original creation and redepositing the debris
into the modern sequence. Moving water is a leveling force, yet CS/FG
claims that there were mountains on which the ark rested while the waters
receded. They must have solidified from mud to stone in a matter of days,
unless we recognize that the higher peaks in the area are volcanic, with
clear indications that the lavas were erupted in air (pahoehoe and aa,
rather than pillow). That cannot happen during the flood. I note that
some of the flows occurred about 3000 BC, which CS/FG may claim to be
post flood.

The argument is another example to using whatever comes to hand to
justify a claim, even though it contradicts elements needed to support a
different argument. By the way, if I recall correctly, Mt. Everest is
growing steadily. If that part of the world can rise, then the Colorado
Plateau can also.
