RE: [asa] POLL: How do you define "Science"?

I do not have a Google account, but here are my thoughts.

The poll selections are aspects or attributes of science, and not
definitions. The first two are benefits that can result from science,
though there is no guarantee that a particular theory or hypothesis of
science will be either one.

Defining science is finding the place where the boundary lines must be
drawn. Science, at its heart, is objective-based. The abuse of science
comes when subjective views claim science does enter the subjective realm.

I do think this an important issue since we are about to step over the 400
year mark of Galileo's discovery year, 1609. They didn't understand the
validity and limits of science then, and the same mistakes are often being
made now.

[I'm not a professional scientist, admittedly.]
