Of possible interest: "Creation and Evolution: A Conference with Pope
Benedict XVI" (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1586172344). This new book
is the result of a conference among scientists and theologians advising Pope
Benedict on creation and evolution. The book includes an excellent
scientific discussion of evolution and a number of thoughtful theological /
philosophical contributions on questions of chance, purpose, and design.
Notably absent is any sort of proof texting, polemics, or over-wrought
argumentation. If nothing else, this should serve as a model for how to
conduct this sort of discussion.
