I don't understand the reference to the Jesus Seminar. Though I am acquainted with the Seminar, I don't seem hear its voice in this article.  JimA [Friend of ASA]

The credulity of the article, and the total lack of any voices skeptical of the Shroud, was disappointing, but maybe that is the state of journalism these days.
It is as though a reporter interviewed people from the Jesus Seminar and presented that as *the* results of New Testament scholarship.
