Re: [asa] Laminin and the Cruciform Creation?

 Forum,
To properly assess the significance of the laminin molecule it is surely reasonable that we set it in the context of _the totality_ of persuasive phenomena which have emerged in recent years from an intensive study of the Judeo-Christian Scriptures. For example:

1) 37 - uniquely symmetrical as a number per se - appears in the structure of Genesis 1:1, in the Creator's name, and in 666 - the biblically-given pointer to wisdom (Rev.13:18); it is also an observed feature of the DNA and RNA molecules;

  see "The Revelations of a Biological Abacus" - http://www.whatabeginning.com/Misc/Genetics/Genetics_VS.htm

2) the appearance of the Genesis 1:1 data set in the metric dimensions of A4;

  see "Paper-Folding for Beginners" - http://www.whatabeginning.com/A4/Origami/P.htm

3) The appearance of the universal constants, pi and e, among the letters and words of Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1, respectively;

  see http://homepage.virgin.net/vernon.jenkins/Pi_File.htm

   and http://homepage.virgin.net/vernon.jenkins/e_valuation.htm

4) The appearance of the reflective factors of Genesis 1:1 and of those of the Creator's name and related features in the structure of a music keyboard;

  see "The Music Lesson" - http://www.whatabeginning.com/Music/M_Lesson.htm

5) The realisation that Psalm 117 is the central chapter of the Bible - and also the shortest - which takes the form of a paean of praise to the Lord; also that the two central verses of the AV are the first and second of Psalm 103 (i.e "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits...")

  for the first, see "Langton's Legacy" - http://www.whatabeginning.com/BBooks/LangtonLegacy/P.htm; the second is the subject of a page shortly to be published

6) The universally known name, ' Shakespeare', is remarkably associated with Psalm 46;

  see "How the Bard found his way into the Scriptures" - http://www.whatabeginning.com/BBooks/TheBard/P.htm

To these and other manifestations of divine purpose should now be added "Features of the Laminin Molecule".

In a forum of Christians and scientists these are surely matters which should command close attention, and foster meaningful debate. However, it is clear to me that deeply-ingrained beliefs can engender a ' circle the wagons' mentality and foster the deplorable phenomenon of ' invincible arrogance' . Nothing should be allowed to quench the search for Truth - which must be the chief reason for the existence of the ASA forum. It is indeed a sad day when those who believe they already know it all attempt to shut out the light of true scientific inquiry!

Vernon

PS In an earlier email I referred to the number of verses in the KJV as 32,102. Please note that this should properly read 31,102.

  It might be helpful as an illustration but to do that you should start with the cross & then speak about laminin & its function rather than present things in the reverse order as here. Early Christians - e.g., Justin Martyr - saw the cross in a lot of things - the human face, a ship's sail, a plow &c.

  Any claim that laminin is in "the perfect shape of the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ" would have to contend with the likelihood that the cross on which Jesus was crucified was T-shaped, with the crosspiece being placed on the upright.

  & as he clses with Col.1:20 I wonder if he realizes the implications of "all things" in that verse, or if he would pull back from it for fear of universalism.

    Here is an interesting video of a sermon using the protein laminin as a sort of object lesson: http://www.godtube.com/view_video.php?viewkey=152b5103d741aca61093

    I'm not offering this link to make fun of it, though I suspect that, like me, many of you will raise eyebrows over it. The person who brought it to my attention was quite touched by it. What is a proper response, which is neither scoffing, nor credulous?
