I mentioned Titus 1:2 without saying what prompted me. I was prompted by a
comment by Bernie Dehler that II Tim. 3:16 mentioned inspiration but not
inerrancy. The word apseudes in Titus 1:2 is somewhat like inerrant, but
admittedly it refers to God rather than Scripture. The verse does imply
that God's promises can be trusted, but pro chronon aionion implies that
the particular promise (of eternal life) antedates the Bible.
