 Thanks for the recommendations. I will check those suggestions. Although I
am interested in the context for the Genesis creation passages, I also want
something that describes the changes in cosmological views that might have
influenced the biblical writers.

My general notion is that much of the OT was continually under compilation
and editing/revision right up through the post-exile period; thus, the books
of Moses might include a mixture of ancient Mesopotamian and
late-Babylonian/Persian influences with regard to cosmological views that
would influence the literary structure. Extending into the NT, I expect that
Paul and the other writers had a cosmological view that was a mixture
of both ancient Hebrew and newer Greek concepts. I'm interested in a book
that provides examples and identifies where these different worldviews come
through in the biblical writings.

With that further description, does anyone have additional or alternative
recommendations?
