Burgy,
Trying to intimidate someone by claiming the support of most scholars
should not be an effective tactic when confronting someone who has long
been convinced of a particular viewpoint, especially since there are many
instances in which most scholars have been shown to be wrong. Someone with
an opposing view would be justified in asking why most scholars have a
certain view and why the minority scholars have a different view.
