[asa] doggy behaviour

I went out this afternoon, so our dog Holly went to bed. Suddenly my wife had a clatter as the dog rushed downstairs and was jumping up to look out of the window. My wife slowly went to see what it was and saw me turning into our road.
The dog must have heard me over a quarter of a mile away. The baffling thing I was not in a car but on a bike (real type as I provide the motor). I can hardly hear the bike as I pedal along but Holly can hear from a quarter of a mile.
