"Human reaction to mockery and marginalization are the
brute facts that we have to learn not to ignore if we
are ever going to be serious about deflating some of
the steam out of the warfare juggernaut in the U.S." -

Aside from the question of 'messing' ethics, the issue
of conflict and competition can be raised in terms of
adherents to ICR's party line of theories. The
"warfare juggernaut" in the U.S. is about much more
than ignorance and fear. It is about much more than
science!
The "warfare juggernaut" is about America being a
super-competitive society. It is about Tiger Woods
making more money in a single year than some
communities make in 50 years, than some countries make
in a single year. "That's just how the market works,"
one might answer. "The war of all against all,"
another might respond - "individual rights". But there
are cultures and societies, nation-states in this
world that do not function upon such hyper-competitve
value systems. South Korea...to pic just one.
A curiosity: How much bigger is ICR's operating budget
than ASA's (I'm making the assumption that it is
bigger than ASA's, of course)? Is ASA in any way
'competing' with or for those persons who are
considered ICR supporters, who may be good Samaritans?
If it is not 'competition,' then what is it?
