[asa] hiatus

I'll need to log off for a week or two while traveling out of the country without a computer.

Let me just take this opportunity to say that there's a tremendous amount of very effective resources on this list. The topics are relevant and a lot of experts weigh in periodically. I like that. Unfortunately, we still have too many people attacking people rather than ideas, too many people ignoring the 4 daily post limit, and too much name-calling. All of our ideas and thoughts would have more impact if we took the time to state it clearly and thoughtfully without emotional backlash. I prefer to keep this list open and free but unless we improve the tone and caliber of notes, we may have to be more restrictive in the future.

On a personal note, let me just share that when I return from my travels, I'll be checking in to a hospital to get my PFO (patent foramen ovale) plugged up. Apparently, it is blamed for a recent mini-stroke I had that left a permanent blind-spot in my left eye. I'm not sure I'm keen on having them messing around with the inside of my heart, but it seems better than the alternative. Hopefully I'll be able to sign back on during the recovery phase.

Thanks again for all your participation. I always learn a lot from all of you.

Randy
