My identification of Harold Hartzler as a YEC was based on the fact that he
was a CRS member. I am unable to say whether or not his view in the 1940s
(when he helped found the ASA) were the same as they were later. Nor can I
say for sure that he was a YEC even later. All I know is that he was a CRS
member, and thus presumably was a YEC for the latter part of his life. My
presumption could be wrong. Perhaps he believed in a recent biosphere
(young biology, older universe and precambrian geology). I do not know.
