I'm afraid this list does - there have been some truly lamentable ridiculing
comments, one of which caused me to unsubscribe from the list in total
disgust for a while (though I'm not a YECer or IDist). It seems some people
can't resist making vitriolic comments. I was told at the time it was
perfectly fair to refer to a cited YEC as a "braying jackass" because after
all, Jesus didn't mince words in Matthew 23.

I've three people with YEC leanings in the house-group I lead with my wife.
We don't use that sort of language to or of them.

I do accept, however, as I've been trying to do it with a couple of
ex-colleagues, that attempting to debate with YEC's is VERY frustrating
because they just ignore any valid points you make and then just scattergun
you with dozens of other points that YEC's make - all of which, if I had
sufficient time to research it, I could probably rebut as well, but there
are only so many hours in the day. The latest posting I had from my YEC
friend has caused me to pause several days before responding lest I go into
rant mode.

Iain.
