[asa] Re: [asa] American Scientific Affiliation — Whatever happened to its mission?

This is a quote from one of the respondents named "nullasalus":
"Honestly, even if TEs disagree with ID, I can’t understand why the two
camps don’t try to put aside their admittedly big differences and unite
against atheistic materialism. It’s one of the reasons that I find myself
more sympathetic to ID on a day to day basis - at least ID proponents engage
and argue against those philosophies. For TEs, they just don’t seem to make
the radar. "

And this is a point I have made on this list more than once. Ever since I
have joined the list I have been often surprised at the vitriol that exists
against YEC here, even though they are our brothers and sisters, and not the
enemy of Christ like the scientific materialists are.

But lately I have come to realize that this list does not represent the ASA,
some of those on this list are members, and some are not. It is a mistake
for Dembski, and Denyse O'Leary especially to use posts from this list as a
representation of the official position of the ASA on any subject.
