Iıve been here lurking all along, Bill.
Let me add my welcome, David, as a BJU alum. Youıre starting light-years
ahead of where I was, walking onto that campus. I was fascinated with what
my science courses taught me there from a YE view. I talked to my teachers
after my freshman classes, and for the first time, I had answers to all my
many ³how to reconcile the Bible with science² questions. I ate it up, and
youıll find that your fellow students will, too. I was still hooked on ICR
materials for a few years after graduating, and it took a crisis of faith to
get me to start reviewing the evidence with any objectivity. Itıs only been
in recent years that Iıve caught up to where youıre at, believing that Godıs
work through an evolving creation is even more amazing than creation of an
instantaneous or interventionist sort. Youıre plugged into a top-notch crowd
here (just try googling any of them), and youıre reading some of the best of
the old (Mere Christianity) and the new (Perspectives on an Evolving
Creation). Wish the latter had been available in my student days.
Iıve lost touch with BJU folks and can only hope that there might be a new
openness there toward other viewpoints regarding Godıs mechanisms in
creation. Iıll pray youıll have an impact for the sake of truth - - and for
the sake of an improved witness to those outside the walls there.
Looking forward to hearing all about it,
Fred
