Well, it's certainly worthwhile getting to know what is written in them and
if you agree with it or not. At least two of my daughter's schoolfriends
are reading TGD and making aggressive atheist noises at her - she needs to
be prepared as to what to say, for example.

Actually I do. Not often, but I'll stick my hand up and say that I have
indeed offered prayers for Dawkins. In fact, watching on YouTube the
excerpt from his program where Ted Haggerd was interviewed by Dawkins, I
actually felt sorry for Dawkins.
I don't think that's incompatible with my assertion that much of Dawkins &
Myers's rhetoric is bigoted, and incites people to stick the one finger up
to God. Myers says, for example "I'm hostile to evangelical Christianity,
and I think it is a blight upon the earth.", a comment that even the neutral
Wikipedia describes as "inflammatory".
