Ronald Numbers' 1992 book "The Creationists" has recently been republished in an expanded edition that includes Intelligent Design. I have not yet purchased the expanded edition, but I did recently hear Ronald Numbers (as well as Howard Van Till, Jeff Schloss and William Dembski) speak at Grove City College ("Creatively Seeking a Creation Story: Evolution and Intelligent Design in America"), on February 7, 2007.
Among the points that Dr. Numbers made in his talk was that, "It is unfair to conflate ID and YEC because they don't even like each other. Creationists did not want to yield to IDers and IDers did not want to be associated with YECers.
Amother interesting point he made in response to a question was that "one of the great failures of American higher education is the lack of teaching of the evidence for evolution. It's just not taught. It's assumed."
A final interesting thought, also in response to a question, was, "What is irreducible complexity to an IDer is a challenge to scientists."
Other relevant names for Nick Matzke's list could include John Ankerberg, Josh McDowell, John MacArthur and D. James Kennedy.
