Since this question is for ALL TEs I guess I'd better answer or give back my TE membership card. I gave up debating athiests as a frustrating and hopeless task. Several years ago I deliberately lurked on athiest usenet forums to learn their arguments and to occasionally engage with the honest and naive intention of correcting some of the many misconceptions about christianity that seems to pervade athiest thinking. I got dragged into debating some specific issues, and although their logic was totally flawed, the debate continued as long as there was even one athiest committed to raising the same old invalid points as if I had never heard them. So I quit debating them ( I'm sure they thought they won!). Then a few years later I replied to a post on talk.origins. I didn't realize until later that it was cross-posted to athiest forums, and I was once again dragged into pointless debate with dozens of ignorant fools pretending to be intellectuals. I don't have time for this. As !
 Michael said making intelligent posts takes as much time as writing papers. Making a two-line uninformed jab only takes a minute, even though we are expected to respond. This is probably the same reason some people don't debate YECs!

stand for the atheists pleasure?)

I will not debate, I am interested in the responses.
