Well put.
Consider a different scenario. You are the sole person on the space
station and a really big asteroid hits the earth. Sufficiently big to
destroy all life, at least all higher order life. How would you react now?
I would find belief very difficult if not impossible in such a
situation. It seems to me that:
1)The covenant God made after the flood would be broken. (and I do not
want to start a discussion about the extent and time frame of the flood)
2)It is not clear to me how any prophecies around the return of Christ
could be fulfilled in any meaningful sense.
