That is not mentioned in the account in I Maccabees 4:36-59, though the lighting of the lamps is spoken of (vv.49-50). The supposed miracle seems to be a later elaboration. I don't know if it played any role in the Feast of Dedication in Jesus' time - one would have to look in the Mishnah. </p>
