I've already advised others offline about this book (since I more than shot my
4 post wad yesterday -- please accept my apologies), however there seems to be
a considerablee interest inthis subject. I found a book several years ago that
anyone involved in a controversy over whether women should teach/lead ought to
read. It's "Beyond sex roles: What the Bible says about a woman's place in
church and family" by Gilbert Bilezekian. Published by Baker 1985.
Bilezikian is an emeritus professor at Wheaton College. He was instrumental in
helping Bill Hybels start Willow Creek Community Church.
You may not agree with his conclusions, but anyone who has encountered the
issue of women teaching/leading in the church ought to read this book.
