It seems to me that Glenn has certain claims he wants to preserve, and one of
the most important is that Adam was the first human. He seems to me to want to
preserve certain aspects of literalism, for which he is willing to give up
others (e.g. he's willing to stretch the genealogies out over millions of
years) I can understand why Glenn wants to preserve Adam as the first human,
but with what I've learned in the past few years that doesn't seem necessary or
possible.
