I'm pretty sure George has written on this, and I await his response. However,
I have my own thooughts which may or may not be in tune with George. It seems
to me that God has the choice of coercing the kind of behavior he wants from
men, or of allowing men to have free will. For men's will to be completely free
God cannot "tip his hand" by intervening in an obvious way, so instead he deals
only with those who seek him, and only in ways that allow skeptics to deny that
God is involved.
