Here for those who care is ICR's Acts & Facts for November.
Burgy
ICR "Acts & Facts" - November 2006
The cover letter from John Morris includes the words "... Charles
Darwin's shift from nominal Christian into avowed atheist." John compares
Darwin with his father, Henry Morris. He also notes that giving to ICR
has "tapered off." He urges "Kingdom votes" in the November elections.
A DVD of Henry's life is available for Christmas giving.
John quotes also from a correspondent (a 16 year old girl in a communist
country) thanking ICR for providing "scientifically valid arguments" for
the YEC position. (choke). She also writes: "The Bible is too true to be
propped up by unscientific evidence." (hoo boy).

PRESIDENT'S COLUMN: Reflection Upon God's Blessings
John Morris write: "This month Americans normally set aside time to
reflect on God's blessings. At ICR we have much for which we are
thankful, and I'd like to rehearse them. ... Through the work and
ministry of ICR, God's Word is honored. His Name is glorified. ... "
(John -- you are truly the son of your father).

IMPACT No. 401 - Extremes of Creation
Don DeYoung writes: "Some of the most fascinating details of creation
occur on the scale of the very small and the very large. Examples extend
widely from the world of tiny living microbes to the vast regions of
space. Everyday analogies and
comparisons may be the best way to help us appreciate the rich diversity
of creation all around us on the boundaries of observation." This four
page article continues with a not-to-bad discussion of the extremes of
the material world. A pretty good survey. I can find little in it that I
could not endorse.

BACK TO GENESIS: BTG 215(a) - If Apes Evolved into Humans, Why Do We
Still Have Apes?
John Morris writes: "This question often crops up among evolution
disbelievers. And while it underscores the truth that most people truly
don't believe man came from rats, fish, and single-celled organisms up
through the primates, it ignores the fact that evolutionists have a ready
answer to it." He identifies two such answers, (1) that both men (sic)
and apes came from a common ancestor and (2) that evolution only proposes
that a small group of individuals evolved, the main group remaining the
same. He then "demolishes" both these arguments, writing, "why don't we
have the hypothetical ape-like ancestor" and "why don't we have the
required intermediate links?" He concludes with the same old tired ICR
mantra: "Evolution tales are pseudo-scientific stories about an imaginary
history."

BACK TO GENESIS: BTG 215(b) - Walking the Walk
Frank Sherwin writes: "One of many problems in anthropology is how and
why man's alleged ancestors decided to walk erect. Evolutionists see "the
origin of bipedalism |as| central to understanding hominid evolution."1
Darwinism states humans
began walking because forests supposedly dried up and they had to survive
on the plains." Frank says that because there is disagreement in the
ranks of the Darwinists, the best origins model continues to be Genesis
1:26-27.

BACK TO GENESIS: BTG 215(c) - Mudcracks and the Flood
Here is Bill Hoesch, writing: "Some people have an intellectual problem
with the Flood because of mud cracks. We have all seen cracks that form
in a dried (or "desiccated") mud puddle. But did you know mud cracks are
also found in sedimentary rocks that are interpreted as Flood strata?
Were there "droughts" during the Flood?" His argument is that mud cracks
provide no evidence of "droughts" during the Flood.

BACK TO GENESIS: BTG 215(d) - Enceladus: A Cold, Youthful Moon
David Coppedge, billed as one who "works in the Cassini program at the
Jet Propulsion Laboratory," (but no professional information is given)
writes: "One year ago, one of the most startling discoveries in the
history of solar system exploration was announced. One of Saturn's little
moons, Enceladus, less wide than Arizona erupted and continues erupting.
Plumes had been suspected months earlier, but by November 2005, the
evidence was unmistakable: up to 375 kilograms of water per second is
being ejected at temperatures up to 180 kelvins (sic). Enceladus joins
Earth and Io as actively erupting solar system objects." The simple
explanation of the phenomena is that Enceladus is "young."

There is also an update on ICR's research plans, a blurb about a
"successful Creation Tour" (80 "creation pilgrims"). and a story of the
last RATE conference (750 people) held in Lancaster, Pa. This was the 3rd
such conference; a fourth is scheduled for the naive in Dallas, Texas.
For some reason, no date was given for this event.
