Re: [asa] AiG Ad in the Nov Christianity Today

I just had to go to the AIG site to see it, and sure enough. But scrolling down the page my eye was caught by a link to "Chuck Norris on Evolution". I've always admired Chuck Norris' Christian stance which stands out in contrast to so much of Hollywood and even much of the martial arts culture. But the quote on the AIG site seems terribly out of context. Chuck's comments:

"… but here’s what I really think about the theory of evolution: It’s not real. It is not the way we got here. In fact, the life you see on this planet is really just a list of creatures God has allowed to live. We are not creations of random chance. We are not accidents. There is a God, a Creator, who made you and me. We were made in His image, which separates us from all other creatures.

By the way, without him, I don’t have any power. But with Him, the Bible tells me, I really can do all things – and so can you."

I'd love to see what came before "... but". Nevertheless these comments are not inconsistant with evolution being a natural process that God used to bring us about, but not the ultimate cause. Aside from the statement that it's not real, which is ambiguous separated from its context, his comments could be used to support theistic evolution.

The same image is on the AiG homepage as well. (Admittedly smaller than a 2
page spread! only about 200x800 pixels)
