search for the first holder of a newly established endowed chair

*The John and Madeleine McIntyre *

*Endowed Chair of Philosophy and History of Science *

Applications are being sought from outstanding natural scientists for a
tenure track position at the Professor or Associate Professor level who
have distinguished themselves with developed expertise in the philosophy
and history of science. The ideal candidate will have a natural science
disciplinary base and manifest mature reflection on the relationship of
Christian faith and natural sciences and will draw upon a breadth of
experience to contribute scholarship and enthusiastic, effective
teaching in the general education and science majors curriculum. Release
time will be provided for research and mentoring of students in
interdisciplinary philosophy and history of science topics. It is
anticipated that this faculty appointment will be made to the natural
science department of the applicant’s science expertise. The Ph.D. is
required and the starting date of this faculty appointment is August,
2007.
