Let me add the following, from very Reformed authors who are OECs taking a
"framework" approach to Genesis One. The authors are Lee Irons & Meredith
Kline, in "The G3N3S1S Debate," ed. David Hagopian (Cuxpress, 2001), p.
297-8:
"By arguing that the many evidences of design (e.g., intentional
fine-tuning necessary for life, improbable spatio-temporal convergences,
etc) necessarily imply miraculous intervention, [Hugh] Ross and [Gleason]
Archer ironically commit the either-or fallacy: either certain features of
the natural world are designed and thus demonstrate the supernatural
intervention of an intelligent Designer, or these features arose by natural
processes alone and thus are not designed. This dilemma is unbiblical, for
all events within the created realm are the result of God's eternal decree,
and therefore no event of fact in the universe fails to demonstrate the hand
of an intelligent Designer. God's wise, purposeful, and intentional
activity is present not only when He intervenes miraculously, but also when
He sovereignly and secretly directs secondary causes to effect His perfect
will (Eph. 1:11)." ... As those who subscribe to the Reformed doctrine of
providence, we are not persuaded that evidence of design by itself
constitutes evidence of miracles."
Amen.
