Despite my opposition to YEC propaganda, there is a twisted way in which
this is more moderately exaggerated. If one goes through the polls at
http://www.pollingreport.com/science.htm, the most common view is that
God created man in his present form, with the CBS polls on 4/6-9/06 and
11/18-21/04, giving 53 and 55% respectively. The CNN/USA Today/Gallup
Poll 9/18-11/05 has 53% saying that man was created exactly as the Bible
says. A Harris Poll 6/17-21/05 has 64% claiming that man was created
directly by God. Like it or not, a majority of Americans do not believe
that man evolved, though some of these may allow evolution for other
creatures.

All polls show that the vast majority of Americans reject the theory of
evolution, as have great scientists such as Lord Kelvin and Louis
Pasteur. But that does not stop an intolerant minority from trying to
impose a belief in the ape-to-man theory on everyone else.

facts straight. -- NOT
