Vernon,
Evolution is not a doctrine (at least for those of us
on this list). It is simply a model by which we can
explain processes that go on in the world God made.
If a better model is found, or we find a persuasive
model ourselves, we will certainly adopt whatever
model best explains what we see in the world.
So when you reach the pearly gates, which, though only
God can say for sure, will probably be sooner than I,
if you discover you're right, fine, we can all tip our hat
to you. But what if you are wrong? What if God created
a universe, which is now some 15 billion years old, and
in that universe, God planned it using evolution.
If God made the world and used evolution to do it, God
is God and none of us can say anything, not even you
with your numbers. What will you say then, if this is how
God made the world and you have been calling the work of
the Almighty's hand evil?
You have been calling evolution "inherently evil". Many
of us here would argue that creationism and creationists
embarrass the faith so thoroughly, that many go to hell
confident that Christianity is utter nonsense.
Would it not be better to be a little more restrained in
our opinions and judgments?
by Grace we proceed,
Wayne
