In response to Dick's response that it is time to shake off the sand and
move on - and so forth. (By the way, sorry I resent a duplicate e-mail, my
e-mail wasn't working properly.)

Dick, you keep talking about how hopeless it is to argue with the YEC's. And
how it is impossible to sell your logical thought to the YEC's - the thing
is, that your audience is a lot bigger than YEC's. I read a management book
recently that said that in a typical company, management has 20-30% fans,
20-30% enemies and 40-60% neutrals. This is one's own team, so the enemy
part is pretty scary, but apparently a lot of research went into this. It is
possible to lose one's fans, but they tend to be pretty loyal. It is harder
to win over the enemies, but there are reasons why it is not a good idea to
just fire them. It is the neutrals who can be won over with good management.

You have an audience. The audience likely has a lot of neutral people in it.
These are the ones who you can win or lose. I had someone write to me based
on a two year old letter he read posted on the website. I found this list
through a search engine and have had it come up many times when I was
searching independently. You have your own website. People are watching. You
can win friends and influence people - though maybe not the ones you are
targeting.
