There is a large distance. The thread started with the yet unproven
assertion that God prefers the learned. Both George and I have tried to show
that not only is that not true but the Bible shows that if anything God
opposes the learned. Rich has been avoiding this point by asserting other
things including introducing spurious "context", e.g. bringing up Pharisees
when I quoted 1 Corinthians where the audience is Greek.
In the interplay between George and Rich F. you need to pay attention to the
order that is occurring. George is saying wisdom comes after salvation and
Rich F. the other way around. See John 3:3. You must be born again before
you can see (or understand intuitively) the Kingdom of Heaven. When pressed
Rich F. went in the right direction of noting that godly wisdom is for the
most part intuitive because it stems from a regenerated heart. But you need
to go back to the original assertion that God prefers the learned who are
people who obtain knowledge in a discursive rather than intuitive fashion.
So, Rich F. contradicts himself. The more correct statement comes later so
this could be indicative of progress, but Rich will need to deny the earlier
statement first for that to be the case.
