Of course I have in no way "suggested" that our understanding of evolution is inapplicable to human life & behavior. But to make your understanding of evolution the single principle in terms of which scripture is interpreted is precisely to force it into your mold. Science, including evolutionary theory, & other disciplines have very important ancillary roles in theology but should not be allowed to dictate to theology - at least if one wants to be any approximation to an orthodox Christian.

On your original claim that "God favors the learned," I keep forgetting to mention another verse - a rather important one - that you need to explain away:

"At that time Jesus said, 'I thank you Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.'"

I'm sure you will try to point out the "context" for this - i.e., try to divert attention from it.

Shalom

That's a characterization, not an argument.

The suggestion that all living organisms have adapted to survive by the laws of Darwinian evolution, and that for some strange reason this should not be applicable to human life and the evolution of human behavior is what narrows the argument.

  I don't insist. I don't force. I recognize.
