RE: [asa] Coulter, and science

Biology is a generic term for much areas of research. Surely, the
experimental component of biology, which is based on the laws of physics
and chemistry, is science. The tendency in all areas of research is to
quantify it and connect them with the microworld. The main element of
biology that, I believe, is not included is the notion of life and, in
humans, questions of consciousness and rationality. Will these areas of
research be ever reduced to just physics and chemistry? That is the Big
Question.

I take it you intend to rule out biology as science? I think this is too
restrictive.
