[asa] Peppered Moths

Most will know of the Peppered Moth and Wells' appalling discussion of it
and his allegations of fraud by Kettlewell for pinning moths to trees.

Well, moths are getting common in my garden as I have loads of honeysuckle
and other nectar rich shrubs. Most nights now I check for moths when I take
the dog out at 10, 30 (it is still light now). So far I haven't found a
peppered moth and so I will tell you when I find one. This scarcity explains
why Kettlewell pinned them to trees rather than waiting with his camera for
a dark one to alight on a light tree and a light one to alight on a dark
tree.

So let's see how I get on with my peppered moths. (To get good samples I
would need traps but they would be no good for photographs unless the moths
could be trained)
