Did you guys really want to say this:
"Resolved, That the theory of evolution provides a fruitful and unifying
scientific explanation for the emergence of life on earth ."
I don't think you wanted to imply that evolution describes how life
emerged. It describes the progression of life through time, but
something has to be in place before it can evolve. Evolution involves
change, it doesn't apply to an initial condition. But don't worry,
probably no one will read it anyway.
