You can't reconcile the Hebrew bible (where our morality comes from) and
individual sex drives. If you take the absolutes out of religion, its not
religion any more.

In the concordance search devotionals that I do, I find that the Bible
continually teaches balance.

The Pentateuch had absolutes. Stone the adulterer and kill a lamb to atone
for the other sins.

I know the Christian thought is that we should repent - which means, at
least for the moment, forsaking our sins. It is acknowledged that we will
continue to return to our sins as a dog to its vomit, but that each time we
repent, that we truly and sincerely mean it. By that standard, the only
course for a homosexual is to forsake any sort of permanent relationship.

Perhaps he/she will be successful. Perhaps he/she will be able to live a
life of chastity.

In that case, do you accept him/her as a brother/sister in Christ? Certainly
that sacrifice is bigger than yours or mine - at least in that department.

But, more likely, the gay will end up with weeks of being on the wagon
followed by periods of falling off the wagon, getting back on, falling back
off and so forth.

I think this is a real dilemma between science and Christianity. Is it
better to accept someone who does not repent or to have them in actuallity
behave in a far more promiscuous manner due to being unable to attain a
degree of virtue that is not required for most of us?
