Yes and many theological writers in the 17 th and 18th century. I mention three, Fr Joseph Needham an RC priest, Buffon who was not a deist or atheist but did not take his Catholicism to bed with him as he preferred his mistress and the early geologist JA de Luc. This will be expounded in my chapter of Myth and Geology, a Special Publication of the Geol Soc of London due out soon. The sooner everyone reads Calvin on the subject the better, assuming they have the free will to choose to.
I think Paul's arguments are the only alternative to either holding a flat earth or regarding Genesis as myth
