Kidnapping God (or at least God's name)

Benkiser assuring attendees at the state's Republican Convention over the
weekend that God was watching over the two-day confab.

God took center stage at the Republican Party of Texas convention in San
Antonio this weekend. State Republicans passed a 2006 party platform that
again declares "America is a Christian nation" and charges that
separation of church and state is a "myth" not supported by the First
Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

My guess is that Intelligent Design also is a plank in the party
platform.
